We are Dave and Melissa Jones, a husband and wife wedding and portrait photography team based in Rochester, NY. Our style of photography is candid and real, simple and fresh – a mix of classic portraiture with modern photojournalism. We like to have fun and so do our clients. We think that the experience you have with your photographer is just as important as your photos. We are available to travel worldwide to wherever your wedding plans take you!

When we’re not taking pictures, we love sharing a pot of coffee in the morning, hiking with our dog Bella, going to concerts, road-tripping in our Jeep, and spending as much time with our friends and families as possible.

Epic Engagement Session Contest :: WIN IT!

It’s no secret that we are huge fans of Sara Lovell. We’ve worked with her before on weddings and her hair & makeup work is always flawless. We’ve also picked her brain before in this interview, check it out. So, when we got to work with her recently on this stylized session with Chris and Lauren, we knew it was going to be so much fun that we’d want to do it again!

What, you might ask, is a stylized shoot? It’s a collaboration of talent with a theme in mind to pull inspiration from. It can be an era, a movie, a poem, a book, basically it can be anything in your wildest of dreams.

Here’s where it gets good for all engaged couples…we are giving away one of these photoshoots complete with the hair & makeup talents of Sara Lovell along with a consultation that will make your dreams become a reality.

Chris + Lauren | Vintage Engagement Session

We can’t even begin to tell you how excited we are to share these beautiful images from Chris and Lauren’s Engagement session! They put together the most gorgeous details and were up for absolutely everything. I loved the fact that they were having so much fun together and that they have this amazing connection that just translates perfectly in these frames. Put that passion and joy together with the awesome hair and makeup talents of Sara Lovell, and you have yourselves one STUNNING session!

After Mother Nature got tired of cooperating with us and the rain started to fall a little more steadily, we headed back to the studio for a change in wardrobe and hair & makeup.

We then made our way over to the Eastman Theatre for some nighttime shots under the lights.

Chris and Lauren, we love you guys and are so happy to call you our friends. We know that life has so many wonderful things in store for the both of you. Congratulations!!

A special thanks to Sara Lovell, who transformed Lauren from a beauty to a bombshell, and provided us with excellent company and expertise. Also, a shout out to our friend Mike, for letting us use his foxy ’57 Chevy.

Our goal with this stylized shoot was to kick engagement sessions up a notch and can’t wait to collaborate with more couples.
